Visual Arts
The Visual Arts Department encourages students to explore their personal visions through a variety of media and materials. Sculpture classes incorporate welding and casting along with three-dimensional techniques. Painting and drawing classes present the opportunity for students to work with live models. Extensive classes in photography, printmaking, jewelry construction and art history are also taught. The curriculum integrates ideas and thoughts in philosophy, science, math and literature within a cultural and historical context. Encouraging students to take risks while creating art with an exacting quality and professionalism enables the student to prepare for acceptance into top national and international colleges and universities. To this end, students are motivated to experiment, invent and explore art forms with integrity.
